Labor law expert and partner in the Fisher Phillips Denver office Todd Fredrickson answers your labor and employment law, wage and hour law, international employment, and other legal questions.

Todd, a partner at the Fisher & Phillips Denver office, is one of a small number of Denver labor attorneys who practice traditional labor law, representing employers in union campaigns, contract negotiations, grievance arbitrations, and unfair labor practice charges. He also tries employment cases before juries, judges, and arbitrators. His practice involves representing employers in various matters arising under such laws as Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), and Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA).


Todd regularly counsels clients on a spectrum of personnel management issues, with the goal of avoiding litigation. To that end, he advises employers on developing and enforcing proper policies, employee handbooks, and employment and compensation agreements. Todd also counsels employers on compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. Much of his practice focuses on training supervisors, managers, and other employees on such issues as sexual harassment, discrimination, employee discipline and discharge, and investigation of employee grievances.

Marc Benchimol, owner of FoodSHaRC, provides advice and guidance on Colorado Food Code requirements, food safety management and compliance, and food safety training. 

FoodSHaRC LLC (Food Safety, Hygiene, and Regulatory Compliance) in Leadville, Colorado, is a food-safety service provider specializing in food-safety management and regulatory compliance. Owner and operator Marc Benchimol has been a Registered Environmental Health Specialist for over twenty years. He is also board certified as a professional in food safety (C.P.F.S.), professional in comprehensive food safety (C.C.F.S.), and registered sanitarian (R.S.). Marc has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University Northridge, one of the nation’s most respected, fully accredited environmental health programs. Marc's many years of experience in local environmental health programs and with CDPHE are key to his expertise with Colorado Food Code requirements, food safety management, and food safety training.

Danny de Zayas, owner of From the Hip Photo, shares tips and tricks for food and dining photography for social media, marketing, and more.

Danny is the Chief Love Officer at From the Hip Photo, which he co-founded in 2008. His seven-person, Denver based studio produces photo and video content and provides social media strategy and execution for an eclectic mix of local and national clients within the F&B and hospitality industries. From the Hip collaborates with mom-and-pop shops, Fortune 100 brands, and concepts of all sizes. A Miami native and NYU graduate, Danny has devoted the last two decades nurturing small businesses. He loves getting to help tell each client's unique story and the satisfaction of seeing a compelling set of images come together. When not working, you'll find Danny spending time with his kids in the mountains or chowing down on a hot bowl of khao soi.

Stefanie Jones, founder and president of the 20-person-strong, Denver-based PR and marketing agency Feed Media, delivers insights from two decades of experience with local restaurant public relations and marketing. 

Feed Media is an award-winning firm that serves clients across the country in the hospitality, travel and tourism, and restaurant industries. 
The Feed Media team has represented hospitality clients including Barcelona Wine Bar, The Ritz-Carlton, The Four Seasons, Federales, bartaco, Del Frisco’s Grille & Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, The Flagstaff House, and Colorado’s famed Casa Bonita, among many others.

As PR has evolved, Feed Media has evolved alongside it, executing successful and creative media campaigns combined with content creation and amplification, influencer engagement, grassroot marketing, social media management and more. Stefanie provides executive level strategic council and crisis management support to the agency’s clients.

CHOW (Culinary Hospitality Outreach and Wellness)



CHOW executive director Erin Boyle offers industry-tailored advice and local and national resources for maintaining the positive mental health and well-being of your staff and yourself. 

Erin is CHOW’s executive director, but also a friend, sister, wife, daughter, dog momma, potter, reader, crafter, walker, nanny, and chef. She trained as a chef at the Culinary Institute of America and went on to work in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., New York City, and Denver. After almost two decades in the industry, Erin transitioned to teaching and loved it. 
Erin has watched staff, family, and friends in hospitality struggle with mental health and substance abuse; she, like many, struggles with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. In 2019, Erin decided to dedicate her energy toward improving access to mental health and wellness resources for all in the hospitality business. As executive director, Erin focuses on outreach and aims to normalize mental health conversations in the restaurant industry.

Idin Kashefipour, an associate with Messner Reeves’ Litigation Practice Group, advises on legal matters around employment, real estate, and commercial disputes, as well as ADA accessibility violations, including website violations.

Idin has extensive experience representing both Defendants and Plaintiffs in all aspects of civil litigation including pleadings, discovery, law and motion, trial and appeal. Mr. Kashefipour has served as first and second chair in several jury and bench trials as well as arbitrations. Since entering the working world at 15 years old as a restaurant dishwasher, Bob’s career has followed two paths: working in the restaurant and eLearning industries. Hospitality consultants Kendra Anderson and Christine LeMieux share their expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy and implementation, restaurant concept design, bar management and operations, menu development, branding, and more.

Kendra, co-founder and managing partner of MQ Consulting Group (MQCG), launched MQCG in 2020 to merge her professional career paths with her personal passions: entrepreneurship, hospitality concepting and operations, strategic management consulting, and DEI-focused advocacy. Prior to MQCG, Kendra was the creator, owner, and operator of Bar Helix (winner Westword Denver and 5280 Best New Bar 2018, and Eater Denver’s 2018 Bar of the Year), a modern, elevated bar and restaurant concept located in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood. 

Prior to opening Bar Helix, Kendra owned and operated Flavor Catering and Event Planning from 2003-2008, which she transitioned in 2011 to SwirlGirl Denver, a sommelier and wine consulting and event management business. From 2010 to 2013, she authored a weekly column on wine and culture for Westword, and contributed content to other publications including Colorado Homes + Lifestyles and Wine + Spirits.

Kendra also has extensive experience in operations leadership and strategic management consulting roles through her work with Citicorp, CenturyLink, Lewis Fowler, and IBM. Kendra gives back to the Denver community by serving as a member of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission and holds a seat on both the RiNo Business Improvement District and EatDenver Coalition of Independent Restaurant owner boards. She also serves on Mayor Michael B. Hancock’s Economic Relief and Recovery Council, established to develop policy designed to support restaurateurs responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kendra’s education includes the University of Denver, the Cook Street School of Culinary Arts, and the International Sommelier Guild. Kendra is a Professional Chef, an Advanced Sommelier and a Certified Cultural Change Management professional.

Christine, co-founder and partner of MQCG, is a multi-passionate entrepreneur with over 15 years of leadership experience, ranging from business operations and event planning to political campaigns and environmental advocacy. While based in Washington, D.C., she was on the executive committee for the Women's Information Network, a professional, political, and social network dedicated to empowering young, pro-choice women. After moving to Denver, she was selected as a volunteer master composter for the city, driving forward her commitment to sustaining the planet. After serving as general manager at the award-winning Bar Helix and co-creator/hospitality and operations director of Cabana X, she co-founded MQCG in June 2020.

Christine earned her MA in Ecopsychology at Viridis Graduate Institute, and regularly invokes its principles of ecology, psychology, and the promotion of sustainability to apply systems-based methodologies to the development of human-centered, environmentally-conscious concepts and experiences for her clients.
